Internal Medicine refers to the diagnosis, treatment and management of disorders involving the different organs and body systems. Our vets are very experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of medical disorders and are always keeping up to date with the latest gold standard information.

Some examples of commonly diagnosed and treated conditions are:

Emergency: Snake envenomation, tick paralysis, intoxications (rat bait, snail bait), head trauma.

Gastrointestinal: Foreign body ingestion, parvovirus, IBD,, motility disorders, parasitic infestation.

Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic: Hepatic lipidosis, bile duct disease, toxic hepatopathies, chronic hepatitis, pancreatitis, exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.

Urinary Tract: Chronic Renal Insufficiency, Acute Renal Failure, UTIs, Bladder Stones, Urethral Obstruction, Feline Lower Urinary Tract Inflammation.

Cardiovascular: Including congestive heart failure in cats and dogs, heartworm disease, endocarditis.

Oncology: Diagnosis and some treatment of cancer:- lymphoma, osteosarcoma, ovarian, mammary, testicular, haemangiosarcoma, mast cell tumors and other skin tumors.

Immune Mediated: Haemolytic anaemia (red blood cell breakdown), thrombocytopaenia (platelet deficiency).

Reproductive: Assessment of cycle, artificial insemination, mismating, ovarian cysts, prostatic infection, vaginitis, pregnancy diagnosis, whelping.

Neurological: Neurological deficits, Geriatric Vestibular Disease, loss of vision, epilepsy, peripheral vestibular disease (ear infections), spinal trauma, disc disease.
