Dr Kirstin Widderick BVSc (Hons)

Personal passions/hobbies:

Just started gardening. Horse riding when I find time to go.

Favourite aspect of working in the veterinary industry:

Helping people – helping people’s furry family members stay happy and healthy and helping my staff achieve personal goals.

Pets:

A cat Jinxy and Australian Mist, who sometimes moonlights at the clinic, our working dog Lindsay the kelpie and our new puppy Nutmeg a golden Labrador .

Studies:

I went to school in Cairns and Longreach and completed my Bachelor of Veterinary Science at University of Queensland in St Luica. Along with improving my skills I like to keep up with the latest studies and techniques of procedures to be able to provide the best standards of care. To do this I continue to take on a variety of continuing education courses including:

  • Preg Testing
  • Equine Dentistry
  • Orthopaedics
  • Stifle Surgery
  • Ultrasonography
  • Reconstructive Techniques
  • Many more

Dreams/goals:

To live the best life I can live.

 


 

Veterinarians

Dr Megan Bridger BVSc

Personal passions/ hobbies:

I like going to the beach, camping, fishing and exploring the Granite Belt and beyond on my time off. Any time spent with family and friends is always fun.

Favourite aspect of working in the veterinary industry:

The variety – not knowing what could walk in at any moment.  It is always so satisfying to help people do the best for their animals. The veterinary industry is filled with passionate, fun, clever and inspiring people, and it’s a profession I’m very proud to be part of.

Pets:

I currently have no pets of my own, however I have an extremely large extended pet family in all of our patients!

Studies:

CompletedBachelor of Veterinary Science at James Cook University in Townsville.

Dreams/ goals:

To continue to develop my skills in all areas of mixed practice, to really enjoy practicing and to enjoy a happy, enriching life outside of work also.

Dr Alicia Vasta BVSc

Personal passions / hobbies:

I like working with animals, playing sport/ water sports, camping and catching up with friends.

Favourite aspect of working in the veterinary industry:

It’s a profession where any day can surprise you and is filled with a great network of supportive colleagues.

Pets:

None at the moment.

Studies:

Finished high school in 2011 and graduated from JCUs Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 2016.

Dreams / goals:

To build my skills over the years and eventually be able to use my profession to assist animal welfare in poorer communities and improve food animal production in needed areas.
