Our Clinic

Nestled among the serene, bushland landscape just minutes from the centre of Stanthorpe is our modern, purpose-built, clinic with easy access parking and complete wheelchair access.

Our generous reception area allows ample space between your pet and other patients, and our friendly reception staff will guide you into one of our many private consulting rooms before your appointment. We have dedicated separate consulting rooms for cats and dogs to reduce stress and anxiety and help your pet feel more comfortable during your visit. We also use pheromone analogue diffusers throughout the clinic and have been trained in stress-reducing techniques to minimise your pet’s concerns as much as possible on arrival, during your stay and on leaving the clinic.

Behind the composed, relaxing, and efficient reception area is the busy heart of our clinic. We have a comprehensive in-house IDEXX laboratory including biochemistry, complete blood count, coagulation profile, progesterone, blood gas, and comprehensive urinalysis. We also have regular IDEXX pathology couriers for specialised tests which are linked back to your pet’s file for rapid result collection and viewing. Our pharmacy is well equipped to treat both large and small animals and our suppliers are ready to courier out specialised medications should the need arise.

Our treatment room boasts abundant space as well as a strategically placed Intensive Care Unit to enable constant monitoring of critically ill pets, as well as those recovering from any routine procedures. Our specialised, noise-reduction cat and dog wards are separate from each other and the hubbub of the treatment area so your pet can feel more comfortable in their suite-like enclosure. We also have separate large dog runs available. Our imaging room enables us to maintain staff safety as well as optimising patient positioning and monitoring during their Radiographs or ultrasounds. Our new digital imaging machine is state of the art and able to send DICOM images on for specialist review when needed. We also have a beautiful, new ultrasound with ultra-sharp images for all point of care aFAST, tFAST and complete abdominal scans.

Our surgery suite is equipped with the latest equipment including high tech comprehensive monitoring equipment, surgical gear and lighting. We also have access to a travelling surgical specialist for referral cases to be treated in clinic when required.

We are equiped to handle a wide range of large animal property visits, from routine large animal vaccinations to calvings and everything in between. We have portastocks for equine call outs, giving us peace of mind and better restraint when needed for equine visits. Whether it’s equine dentistry using our powefloat or radiography using our mobile X-Ray, you can be asured that your much-loved companion will be safe and secure for their thorough assessment and treatment. We also boast a grooming service second to none and a separate hydrobath for your pets regular clips, baths and mani-pedis with our highly qualified groomer.

We do like these vets. Only problem is they are just so expensive.

New Year’s Day my little Tessa was attacked by 4 Bull Arab dogs it was terrifying I thought I would loose her. Phoned about for a vet. Kirsty was absolutely wonderful and caring, she quickly tended Tessa as well as comforting and explaining everything she was doing to help Tessa. So grateful to have Tessa still with us Thanks to Kirsty.

We rushed two dogs who had been bitten by a red belly black snake to Stanthorpe Vet Care Services out of hours on Saturday afternoon. Vet Amy met us straight away and was able to successfully treat both dogs. The service was incredible and Amy and both dogs had an instant rapport which was really helpful. They trusted her straight away. She was an incredible help, super professional and very kind to us all. The price although considerate (due to the nature and time of the visit) I thought was more than reasonable. This will be our new vet. Thanks Amy

We have 4 fur babies in our family and a visit to Stanthorpe Vet Care is always wonderful, such caring staff, working together as a team. In one of my saddest moments, they really cared and got me through to adopt again. Tip top service.
